Privacy policy

When you contact us, book a demo or start a trial: your name, email, phone number, business name and anything you choose to tell us about your business.

When you use Footing: your account details, and the job records you and your team put in, such as clients, sites, quotes, invoices, timesheets, photos, signatures and safety forms. That can include personal information about your staff, subbies and clients.

When you use the app: technical information such as device and browser type, and logs of sign-ins and actions, so we can keep the service secure and keep an audit trail.

To run and support Footing: providing the service, migrating your data, running Footing Start sessions, answering questions and sending service messages.

To bill you, keep the service secure and meet our legal obligations.

We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your job records to advertise to you or anyone else.

The records your business keeps in Footing belong to your business. We process them on your behalf to provide the service. Ask any time and we'll export them for you. If you close your workspace, we delete them after a reasonable period unless the law requires us to keep them.

Service providers that help us run Footing, such as hosting, email and payments, only as needed to provide the service.

Services you connect yourself, such as Xero, Stripe, ChatGPT or Claude. They receive what you authorise and handle it under their own privacy policies.

Demo bookings on this site are taken through Cal.com, which handles the details you enter under its own policy.

Where the law requires it. Some providers may store information outside Australia; where they do, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected to the standard of the Australian Privacy Principles.

This marketing site doesn't use advertising or analytics trackers. The Footing app uses cookies to keep you signed in.

We protect personal information with access controls, encryption in transit and role-based permissions in the app. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll notify you and the OAIC as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. If you have a complaint about how we've handled it, tell us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
