Footing
For estimators

Win the work. Then it's a project.

The enquiry sits in a folder, the quote in another, and the job starts as a blank record. File it on a board, move it through your stages, and mark it won: client, site and project, from the same enquiry.

Who it is for

The estimator, owner-estimator or the person who prices the work. You take the call, you measure, you quote, you chase. You need the enquiry on a board that becomes the job when it lands, not a CRM you export out of.

What you get before the job exists

01

See the book that is not won yet

Open leads, pipeline value, and which ones have gone quiet. Chase from the board, not a folder of emails and a spreadsheet of maybes.

02

Quote from the same enquiry

Measure the plan and send the quote without starting a fresh card. The lead stays the record until it is won, lost, or parked.

03

Won is the project

Mark it won and Footing creates the client, the site and the project in one go. You are not re-keying the job you just sold.

The pipeline is the front of the same record

Stages are yours: the default run is New Enquiry through Follow-Up. Won, lost and parked are outcomes, not columns. Conversion needs a full Australian site address, then the project is the job you run.

  • Kanban of enquiries, list when you need to chase
  • Won creates client, site and project together
  • Takeoffs and quotes sit in the same product

Straight answers.

Is this estimator software for Australian builders?

Yes. It is the pipeline the estimator or owner-estimator runs before the job exists: file the enquiry, move it through stages, quote from the same record, and convert won work into a project. It is not a standalone CRM, and it is not a takeoff-only tool.

What happens when I win the job?

Mark the lead won. Footing creates the client, the site and the project in one transaction and links them back to the enquiry. A full Australian address is required for the site. You open the project from the lead.

Can I set my own stages?

Yes. Admins replace the stage list. Keep keys stable when you rename a column. Won, lost and parked stay as outcomes. Open leads that sat in a removed stage move to a fallback you pick.

We don't have a dedicated salesperson. Does that fit?

Yes. That is the usual case. The owner or the estimator owns the board. Users are unlimited, so adding a second person to chase quotes does not add a seat.

Is this takeoff and estimating software?

Takeoffs live in Footing: measure the plan, price it, send a quote or an RFQ. This page is the sales pipeline those quantities feed. The job starts when the lead is won, not when the takeoff is saved.
