Starter prompts
Paste one into ChatGPT or Claude once Footing Tools is added.
“Turn these notes into a quote: demo bathroom, 2 days labour, skip bin, tiles supplied by client”
“Quote for a 6x4 deck in merbau, with an optional pergola as an extra”
“Make a quote for replacing 12m of colorbond fence, valid 30 days”
What it won't do
- Give legal advice or tell you what a clause means.
- Price your work. The numbers are the ones you put in.
- Suggest rates or tell you what the job should cost.
Templates and calculations only — not legal, financial, safety or professional advice. Check everything against your contract and the law, or get advice, before you rely on it. Footing isn't responsible for how it's used.
Straight answers
Can my client accept the quote online?
Yes. Open the document link and send it to your client. They can accept it from their phone.
What's an optional extra?
A line the client can choose to add, like an upgrade. It shows on the quote with its price, but isn't in the total.
Will it price the job for me?
No. Your rates are yours. The template adds up what you put in and gets the GST right.
Running more than a few jobs?
This makes one quote. In Footing, the client signs the quote on their phone, and once it's accepted it sets the job budget and flows into the invoice.
